Project Overview
Paelon Memorial Hospital is a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. It needed a new website that makes it easier for patients to learn about its services and book appointments, and that reflects the quality of its care.
After in-depth conversations with the hospital’s Managing Director and IT Manager and a review of the existing website, Verdant DevCore Technologies redesigned and rebuilt the site on a content management system.
Business Challenge
For a hospital, the website is often where a patient’s journey starts. Patients need to find the right service quickly, understand what the hospital offers, and book an appointment without having to call during opening hours.
Paelon wanted its redesigned website to meet these needs, and also to share news and stay in touch with patients and partners, while keeping patient-facing forms secure.

Why Paelon Memorial Hospital Chose Verdant DevCore Technologies
We started by listening: our team met the Managing Director and IT Manager to understand the hospital’s goals, and reviewed the current website before proposing anything.
A structured process (specifications, wireframes, mockups, development, testing and launch) set out a five-to-six-week timeline, with an optional support plan of at least 12 months to keep the site secure and current.
The Solutions
We designed and built a patient-focused hospital website:
- Home and About Us pages that introduce the hospital.
- An appointment booking system so patients can request appointments online.
- Services pages, including vision aids.
- An Our Partners page.
- A News/Blog page and a Contact page.
Features include social media integration with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and newsletter subscription. Security includes an SSL certificate, a security audit application and a web application firewall.
Impact
Patients can find the service they need and request an appointment online at any time, instead of calling during opening hours, which can also ease the load on front-desk staff.
News, social media and the newsletter help the hospital stay in touch with patients and partners, and the CMS lets the team keep information current without developers.
Key Takeaways
- Start with the people who run the organisation. Conversations with the hospital’s leadership shaped a website around real operational goals.
- Make booking the easiest thing on the site. Online appointments meet patients where they are, at any time of day.
- Healthcare websites must be secure. SSL, a firewall and regular security audits protect patients and the hospital’s reputation.
