Project Overview
Icon Stockbrokers Limited is a Nigerian stockbroking firm offering stockbroking, portfolio management, investment advisory and consultancy services. It came to Verdant DevCore Technologies to replace a website that no longer reflected the quality of its services or met the needs of today’s investors.
After reviewing the project request and the existing site, we planned a full redesign: a corporate website of 19 to 24 pages and a separate set of self-service trading pages, built on a content management system the Icon team can update themselves.
Business Challenge
The previous website made it hard for investors to find what they needed. Content across the company profile, service descriptions and careers section was missing or out of date, pages lacked consistent banners and structure, and the typography, imagery and navigation made the site harder to read and use than it should be.
As a regulated financial services firm, Icon also needed more than a new look: onboarding forms that work online, clear regulatory and policy pages, and strong security for a site that handles client information.

Why Icon Stockbrokers Chose Verdant DevCore Technologies
Verdant DevCore Technologies offered Icon a dedicated team (a project manager, a UI/UX designer, a frontend engineer and an optional SEO specialist) and a clear plan built on an agile process: requirements first, then designs and a prototype for sign-off, then development, integrations, testing and launch.
We also made practical recommendations from day one, covering content, page structure, typography, imagery, navigation and accessibility, so the redesign would fix the problems of the old site rather than simply restyle it.
The Solutions
The new corporate website covers the full investor journey:
- Company: home, about and team pages, plus careers with job listings and job detail pages.
- Services: stockbroking, portfolio management, investment advisory, consultancy and overseas correspondent pages.
- Online forms: personal and corporate account opening, and buy, sell and verify mandates, all as web-based forms.
- Research: research and article listings, market reports and article pages, plus a downloads section.
- Policy and legal: order management and best execution policy, privacy policy, cookie policy and FAQs.
A separate set of self-service trading pages (landing page, e-learning, contact, terms of use and privacy policy) supports Icon’s online trading product. Across both, we built in responsive, cross-browser design, SEO basics (XML sitemap and robots.txt), Google Analytics, live chat or WhatsApp support, reCAPTCHA-protected forms, a blog, cookie consent, a web application firewall, a security audit tool, two-factor admin login and a custom admin login page.
Impact
The redesign makes it easier for investors to find Icon’s services, research and policies on any device. Account opening and trading mandates can be started online instead of on paper, making onboarding faster for clients and for the Icon team.
Consistent banners, a clearer page structure and modern typography give the brand a more professional presence, while the firewall, security audits and two-factor admin login protect the site and its users. The content management system lets the Icon team publish research, reports and job openings themselves.

Key Takeaways
- In financial services, trust starts with the website. Clear structure, professional typography and up-to-date content tell investors that the firm behind the site is credible.
- Online forms remove friction from onboarding. Moving account opening and trading mandates to the web lets clients start the process whenever and wherever suits them.
- Security is a feature, not an afterthought. A web application firewall, security audits, reCAPTCHA and two-factor admin login belong in the scope of any financial services website from day one.
